Snow dotted her ebony fur on the winter day. Zera shifted uncomfortably on the rock that she lie upon. She was skinny and her fur ruffled and unkempt. More than anything she missed her love, Arkan. She buried herself deeper under her tail, wishing for more warmth. She should be moved onward back to the den, but exhaustion reached her too soon. A cold breeze made her whimper and shake. Would this winter ever end?

Running back into the lands he once called home only made his heart race more and more. He had ran away in search to find his true self, but what he only found was this place he could truely call home. Arkan had been confused and lost ever since his alphas had disappeared and not being able to find his dear beautiful Zera was beginning to be hard for him. It had been awhile since he had been back in these old lands and to his amazement he had not forgotten how to find his way through the lands. It was like he never left, but then again it was like he had been gone for an eternity. There was no one to be found so far, and that was very odd because usually there were wolves always wondering around. Arkan lifted his nose to the air hoping to get some scent of another, but still there was nothing. Coming to a slow stop to catch his breath, he lowered his rear and sat. Deep in thoughts now all he could think about was finding Zera right now. Looking back up into the sky and closing his eyes he pictured seeing her, the warmth that ran through him almost made him forget about the cold winter that was still here. He sighed yet again and stood back up not giving up on finding his beloved. Taking a deep breath and forcing whatever energy he had left in him, he gave a large howl calling for anyone and took off running once again.

The coldness was reaching her, making her limbs frozen and her skin numb. Slumber wouldn't come to her, and she wouldn't dare going to sleep in this weather. She might never wake up again. Would she ever find another wolf in this frozen, empty land again? Had her alphas given up on her and her packmates? Would she ever see her beloved mate ever again? Thoughts raced through her mind as she stood and jumped off of the rock, whimpering in pain as she landed on the snow-packed ground. Arkan... she wanted to curl up next to him once again, but that seemed like impossible for she hadn't seen him for months. But she wouldn't give up trying to find him. She stopped dead as she heard a faint howl in the frigid air. Was it the wind? Possibly not...It was as clear as day; a wolf. A spark of hope gleamed in her eyes as she darted off torward the direction of where the howl came from. Her legs ached, but that didn't matter right now, there was another wolf out there when there was none for months! She raced across the snow, winded around trees and stopped when she thought she was close. She pointed her nose into the air and howled, hoping for an answer.

Dashing through the lands with freezing snow flying behind him, and having his paws and body beginning to feel numb. This brave wolf did not want to give up on his search. Along with the cold hard wind blowing through his coat and packing it with little balls of snow, his eyes began to freeze and dry out. Slowing down slightly he closed his eyes and shook his head trying to get his vision back. Still in a fast pace and his eyes closed, Arkan didnt notice what was coming in front of him. A large tree trunk that had fallen over as it froze during the hard storm and began to get covered by a thick hill of snow and it blended in along with the white ground. Coming closer to it, Arkan opened his eyes once more and before he could make any other action, he ran straight into the trunk and fell to the ground. The male laid there for several minutes on the cold ground and gave a small whimper as pain rushed through his head. As he laid there he began to get covered in snow and like the tree trunk he began to blend in with the white surroundings. His head began to stop hurting and he covered his face with one of his paws and took a deep breath. 'Hopeless' he thought to himself 'there hasnt been any sight of a wolf since I have been back....nothing is here anymore...nothing..' he cried to himself and wrapped his tail around him. A

The wind hissed and clawed at her fur. It was getting colder now, and she was hoping to find that wolf. Her limbs and body had begun to go numb from the fridgid weather. She shook the snow off of her coat and raced onward to where she heard the wolf. Was the wolf a loner? Was it one of her packmates? Arkan? A spark of hope rushed through her body as she strolled through the snow-capped undergrowth. Her ears pricked as she heard a whimper not too far away. She quickend her pace half-hoping to see a wolf and not one of those soft pet dogs. She swerved around a huge log covered in snow and stopped in front of a snow pile with a black nose and cream-colored hairs sticking out in clump out of it. It was the wolf. "Oh no." she gently pushed the snow off of the wolf.

(OOC- Sorry it keeps posting two times...lol I dont know how and why it is doing that)
Flicking his ears around, the tan male heard crushing sounds in the snow not to far away. At first he thought that it might be a rabbit or a tree branch moving in the snow, but then wondered if it was just the sounds of the wind playing a joke on his mind. Arkan shook his head slightly as the sound was becoming louder thane before, and suddenly thought that this was no joke. There was something out there, hopefully another of his kind. Hopefully one that he knew. Lifting his head out of the snow as a presence of another came next to him, and hearing a soft and sweet voice go through his ears. Arkan moved out from the snow and shook his body and stood tall. Blue eyes quickly turned and before him was a familiar beautiful black female. Staring in amazement and his heart leaping for joy, not caring about his aching freezing muscles he ran up to the female he knew to be his wonderful mate, Zera. Wrapping his head around her neck and licking her muzzle non stop, his tail wagged and he gazed at her in the eyes and smiled big "Zera...my love...Im back...Im so sorry for leaving you behind!" he whimpered in apology and continued to nuzzle her lovingly.

Her blue eyes sparkled with emotion as she saw that the lump of creamy fur was her long lost love. "Oh, Arkan! I've missed you so much!" she barked happily as she licked his muzzle lovingly. "So much..." She repeated, nuzzling her love. Zera's tail wagged, spreading snow all over in a heap of white flakes. She was starting to think that she would never find Arkan again, her worst fear. But he was back, standing right in front of her. "Where have you been?"

The worries of never finding the thing dearest to his heart again had finally began to disappear. Being next to this one wolf made his cold heart now become warm and once again with emotion he had thought he lost. Knowing now what happens to him when he is gone from this wonderful female makes him never want to leave her side. Arkan could feel his body shake not because of the cold but because of the long lost happiness and love that was moving through him. He could feel tears forming in his eyes as he wrapped his head around hers, and feeling the beating of her heart along with his made everything feel worth living for. Arkan moved back and gazed once again into her beautiful blue eyes and spoke "I to have missed you so Zera..." he nuzzled her and contniued "I was off to search for who I am...but I have learned that Iam truely lost without you....and that the answer to who Iam is being with you...thats why I came back....but love nothing else matters now..Im here with you once again and now we are whole.." Arkan licked her muzzle and once again placed his head around hers and cuddled close to keep her warm.

The heart beat of a loved one before her thumped against her chest. She nuzzled her love, enjoying the warmth of Arkan. She closed her eyes, listening to her love's soothing words. Lost with words that wouldn't make her look like a total idiot, she leaned against the creamy male curled up with her. "I was lost without you, and I'm just so glad that your here now." she said in a soothing whisper. She had been very lost without her love, her sweet love. She burried her face in his chest fur, glad of this moment. Was it a dream? Or dream come true?

The strong male smiled big as he felt her lean up against his chest, and hearing her soft words of love made his heart beat fast. He had missed her so and now nothing was better than this moment. He didnt care if his pack was not alive or not, he was just happy that is sweetheart Zera was next to him physically and not just in thoughts anymore. Looking down into her eyes, Arkan smiled and nuzzled her "I will never leave you again..Iam so sorry for doing that this time though..but believe me..now we can continue on together and forever.." he whispered the last words and began to lick her ears soothingly and looked around the area in silent thought. Turning back to his love, his blue eyes locked with hers and he spoke again "So have you been staying in a den during the winter?..I need to get you out of this cold weather before come down with a sickness..I dont want to loose you again.." Arkan smiled slightly and waited for any reply.

The ebony fea gazed up into his blue eyes. She has choosen the right wolf to be in her life. Arkan was sweet and willing to kept her safe from anything. She licked his muzzled lovingly before speaking. "Of course I have. It's not far away from here." She turned away from him, pointing her nose north from where they were standing. It was near the center of the territory. She turned back to him and smiled sweetly, waiting for a reply.

(OOC- yes i know *tears*..lol)
The male smiled and slowly stood up, and looked around the terrain for anything but still of course there was nothing except the white blanket of snow on the ground. Arkan stood next to his love and shook off his coat then spoke "ok good...well come lets get warm.." he nuzzled her and went to help her stand, then waited for her to walk beside him towards the den.

Blue eyes gazed up lovingly at her love. Zera stood and shook her coat, getting some of the snow off of her pelt. She hated the feeling of wettness on her fur. She brushed against Arkan as she started toward the den, stopping and waiting for him to come.
