In the year of 2301, humans finally found a planet that lived exactly as earth did, except more beautiful and 'new'. Enough people were convinced that this planet held a new and better life for many. after or a thousand animals were sent to the new planet, named Alkali after the first set of earthly elements, they decided it was safe. The creatures sent to Alkali were there for over three years before people began sending robots to begin the building of the cities. It was the talk of the century. Who would go? Who wished to stay behind on earth? So many of the world's top men and women were leaving the diminishing earth behind for the newer, better Alkali. The ozone layer had now become the size of Europe, and clearly not enough. The sun had melted enough of the glaciers that the fresh water supply had dropped to nearly half. A sufficient amount of North American and Africa was underwater, pushing people further and further inland.
The choice was simple. A schedule was layed out. People who payed the most would leave first, with their pets and belongings. Many of the richest families bought the entire airship to get all of it's best features. Mind you, the ships were the size of Ocean cruisers. Country by country was emptied as the began the three week journey to a new galaxy. Millions of people mounted their ships and with them, their most prized possessions. Little did they know of a filthy secret an evil scientist had planted. Among all of the ships were the controls to every robot planted on Alkali. Without these controls, the robots were deceptive creatures. The Scientist insisted he travel only on his little ship, with his own comforts of home.
Finally, the last men, women, and children mounted the Cherofena a large airship that would arrive last on Alkali. This ship carried the most basic, along with advanced captains. These people were not poor, but chose to be the last to say goodbye to their beloved home. Many pets resisted the boarding of this ship, knowing withing the true fate of their families and selves. Each ship towed behind their livestock cargo, separate from the main ship to keep away the distressing 'noises' they made. Every ship was set this way, as if the animals were bothersome.
On the fourth day of the second week, a mayday call was heard from the first seven ships. At the same time, the belts between the human ships and animal trailers were snapping, mechanically. This event showed that the destruction was planned, a setup by only one person: the evil scientist. One by one, as ships entered range, they began the same self destruct. Millions of families perished as they floated through space deprived of the needed oxygen. As the immense space swallowed all but that one last ship, people were terrified. They could only think of their deceased families, their remains somewhere in the Milky Way. But two weeks in, the didn't have enough food the turn back. The only option loomed ahead of them: Go on to Alkali.
They did continue, attaching their ship to the floating animal trailers as they went. It wasn't the poor beasts fault that they were there. A week of starvation led all of the animals into disturbed minds and frightened bodies. But the trip was nearly completed. The ship captains knew that upon the destroying of the main ships, all robot activity would cease. The cities were only half built. And with a group of 800 people, that would only barely get it going. The eight hundred survivors, along with eleven thousand animals, arrived on Alkali two days late. Many of the trailers crash landed, leaving the sick or dead animals strewn about the ocean surface. But that lasted not long at all. The birds and creatures who had been set there three years ago had morphed into strange beasts of Alkali. Frightened, the on board robots were set to work on the making of a barrier around the city. Only until weapons could be made to enforce the law of 'humans rule, beasts drool'.
But the leading wolves of Alkali would have none of that. Now the size of male tigers, they all lead Alkali with a strong force. Three packs had settled nicely, and the humans gave them their names. The Avenir, The Regel Chandelle and the Kaltes Leben. These wolves dominated the land, ruling over all. They were kind, gentle, creatures of nature, but let the daring humans know their places. And yet another creature ad dominated the new world. Strangely enough, the caribou species had thrived on Alkali. Mutatuion oveer the years had, just like the wolves, increased in size. These beasts also made their mark on Alkali as a creature second in command to wolves. Formerly, wolves would hunt don this 'prey.' But after the morphing brought both animals larger, the caribou as big as a 19 hands high and the wolves as tigers, they had decided to call a truce.
The wolves ruled Alkali's natural world, or, outside of the city gates. With the caribou, they prospered nicely too. But, how, might you ask, would caribou, of all creatures, help the wolves? The caribou are creatures of skill and strength, especially against enemies. The wolves are allies with the humans, and if the humans like the wolves, and the wolves like the caribou, the caribou have a better chance of surviving. There young are under the truce as 'untouchable,' as in off limits to hunting. But not under the contract are the food and hunting limitations. The wolves are allowed to take injured, sick or weak caribou, since upon the death of the woves, the caribou eat the fertilized grass. And anoher strange change has brought forth the efficiency of the carribou. The beasts are now omnivors, with canines like the wolves. And they only travel in pack sized groups. They're now capable of being the same as their ancestors, or as the new Alkali species. Quite a good reason to ally.
Still wondering about the scientist? The evil man landed on Alkali about a week after the others, crashing into oblivion after a malfunctioning system. But his evil pets were not so unfortunate. The people, however thrived in their new world. The climate was always cool, due to the distance from their small sun. This was convenient, for the races need not to worry about any ozone layer. Years of prosperity passed, young children growing to discover new things, just as their elders had with earth. The city was completed and expanded upon, and the food was grown in the square miles of the gated community.
For a while, all was safe. But a new, different variety of wolves was erupting from the far side of Alkali. The leader was a male who was intending to take over the lands of the humans, mainly to avenge his leader, the scientist. Before his success, the three packs united and crushed the uproar. All but one. In his cowardice attitude, he abandoned the dark group and fled to his own world, where he force bred the lesser wolves, poisoning their lineage, clustering an army.
The people heard of this, saw its effects and knew they had to help, or in their own time of need, would the wolves help them? The army, named the Zaitors by the people, consisted now of about 6 canines, no match for the strong packs. But the loyal devils have tried persuading others to join them, but rarely gaining Members. However, their leader, Viton, is determined to overpower the packs. The packs are determined to be loyal to the humans and their weapons, as long as they remain loyal to them.
In the blink of an eye, it all changes. As Alkali is still being discovered, they have found that its storms occur once a century, and wipe clean anything unprotected. A few managed to make it to the city lockdown center, but not all. The storm occured and wiped the city of its residents, leaving nothing but about a hundred left in the city. The animal outside of the gates however, survived miraculously by instinct. The Montes family survived and runs the city, taking care of what they can. But the rest of the people live in the two hotels, surving on their own.
So now, in the year 2035, amidst this turmoil, the real canines who resided with the people, founded their own group. The Protectors. It didn't matter who, or what, attacked their humans, they would attack back. Led by the top family, the Montes, the city and their pets are safe. And for now, the wolves, their packs and the caribou herds are safe. But for how long? And will the young city of Kitren become the New World of the twenty-fourth century? Or will it go down in the paws of the Zaitors?
